Honest defaults
Strict opt-in unless you choose otherwise. Accept and Reject look the same.
North Consent comes from years of building and optimizing websites for brands in Canada and the US, and seeing the same cookie problems on almost every one.
When Quebec's Law 25 made tracking off by default the rule, most banners did not change. They still loaded trackers first and hid the refuse button. Agencies were patching it site by site.
North Consent started as a WordPress plugin Tarek Riman built for his own clients at Riman Agency. It worked, so it became a service any website can use: one line of code, a banner in English and French, and proof of every choice.
We build it the way we would want a vendor to treat our own clients: honest defaults, plain language, and no dark patterns.

Strict opt-in unless you choose otherwise. Accept and Reject look the same.
Banners, policies and guides people can actually understand, in English and French.
We store IPs only as a salted hash and keep the banner script small and independent.
